In a series of vignettes and punctuated with popular tracks from the eras, The Streets of Your Town charts the coming of age of our city from the birth of the iconic Cloudland Ballroom in Bowen Hills, to the exhilarating World Expo ‘88 at South Bank when Brisbane was on show for the world to see.

 

At the same time, it is the story of a local girl named Luna – an eternal teenager throughout the ages. We find her, adorned with a sparkling moon brooch, at pivotal moments through history navigating the road to adulthood.

 

The Streets of Your Town is a celebration of the styles, influences, hopes and fears of a youthful city.

Commissioned and produced [under the title Streets of Brisbane] by Brisbane State High School in 2017 for the school's yearly production, Streets of Your Town is a large cast spectacle that celebrates our city and brings history to life.
