Under commission with Backbone Youth Arts, The Unmentionable, Unspeakable Gunther Grim in the Halfway Town, was developed with and written for a group of primary school students in the regional town of Charleville in 2007.

The story follows a group of kids worried about a new fast food restaurant opening in their town. Inspired to investigate the restaurant's owner, Gunther Grim, the kids soon uncover a horrifying practice - the chicken isn't chicken, and their lives are in danger! This is part mystery, part black-comedy and a whole lot of recycled cardboard sets.

Co-faciliated and directed by Lucas Stibbard, a play-reading was performed by the students for the local community at the Bilby Festival. This project was known as a theatre boot-camp, allowing students to take part in the entire process of making theatre in one week.
