The Night Reader is one part of the four-part response to the life and work of the late Harold Pinter, presented under the title My Night with Harold, alongside the works of playwrights Marcel Dorney, Elise Hearst and Richard Jordan.

Produced and developed by 23rd Productions, the finished work played in a warehouse room as part of Brisbane Festival's Under the Radar program in late 2009, with Pinteresque views of family, death, war, and activism, paired with unexpected movement techniques.

The Night Reader, saw a Harold on his deathbed, visited by a stranger ostensibly there to comfort him. It becomes apparent there is something more this man wants, and it is anything but comfortable.
